Project: Live Cancer Free : Posters and Video

This project was not only my favorite but also the hardest. The concept was to create a series of posters that informed the public of the misconceptions of cancer. After reading some articles and creating a word association list the concept began to change. The final concept for these posters and videos was to give hope to someone who had cancer. The idea to use the phrase “Live Cancer Free” came from personal experience. Not to let cancer define me but to live my life regardless of disease I was diagnosed with. Using negative terminology became counter-productive. Using words such as LIVE, BRAVE, HOPE, and CURE seem to give a positive outlook on a horrible disease. I created a very simple logo at the bottom inspired by my fathers medals that he received while in the military. It was important to make sure I did not create one exactly like one of his medals since it may create confusion in the message. The posters were designed to create just enough message to have the view go further such as to the website (which is a fictional website).

Two videos were also created to correlate with the posters. The concept for the posters is similar to that of the posters. The idea for the video is to show have a first person perspective. Showing the life he/she has after cancer. The goal of the videos are to show that cancer does not end the dreams and hopes that we have.
